Nicholas A. James’ practice is equally divided between civil litigation and family law. Mr. James leads the small business litigation focus within Hunt, Green and James. He personally takes pride in helping small businesses grow through strategic legal planning. He understands that small companies often need the legal services of large companies but lack the short-term capital to invest in the legal defense or planning. In addition to helping small businesses, Mr. James also litigates personal injury, products liability and other tort claims.
Mr. James’ family law practice involves cases seeking or defending significant sums of alimony, equitably dividing a complex asset, often a company, or litigating over child custody issues.
Mr. James began his career as a law clerk at a firm focused on family law. Within a few short years he worked his way up to managing partner of the firm. In 2012 he left that firm to form Hunt, Green and James with Paul H. Green, Jr., and Matthew C. Hunt. He received a B.A. in Political Science from West Virginia University and J.D. from Florida Coastal School of Law. Prior to attending law school Mr. James clerked at the Federal Trade Commission in Washington D.C. Mr. James is a resident of Jacksonville Florida, where he resides with his son, Mack.
